I had worked with Scoot one school year and had what I thought was a successful time, even getting requested by teachers. I had stopped when I accepted a full-time position, but now it was a few years later and I was looking for something part-time so decided to sub again. I noticed they kept posting the need for subs in my area and I had all the requirements (and had already subbed for them before). The site would not let me reapply as it said I was already in the system; it seemed like some kind of glitch because it wouldn't let me reapply. I emailed for help but they ignored it - then I called a couple times and was told "I'm emailing you right now" (never received it, even though the person confirmed my email address), "someone will call you" (never did) with no explanation. As someone with teaching experience AND Scoot experience, this has been as befuddling as it has been frustrating. If they had any issues with me, they never said anything (and I would be surprised to hear that). To my fellow teachers and former teachers, I can't recommend a company that doesn't give teachers the courtesy of bare minimum communication. There are sub companies out there that will respect you but it apparently isn't Scoot.
