Pros

Great learning environment. Management and co-workers are willing to train and teach you what to do. Most of the staff is amazing and wonderful to work with. New facility and lots of education available. All benefits available.

Cons

Challenging patient load and lots of hard work. You will sweat and run around on bad days. There are good days too though. High turnover. Negativity from some co-workers and indifference from management. Local management can only do so much their hands are tied by corporate. No incentive or modivational aspects to drive employees beyond 6 months of employment. Raises are a joke at 2% and do not reflect work done. If you make one mistake or have an attendance call in you don't get a raise at all but you get a list of goals to complete that are unreasonable. Doesn't matter if you completed your previous years goals or not. Health benefits are expensive. No incentive to be exceptional.

Blind Leadership

Pros

The insurance is OK and I find the coverage to be equal to or better than some of the local hospitals. Pay is decent overall.

Cons

Blind leadership from the CEO has led to turnover so high that in a year you wont know over half of the staff. Many positions are filled by incompetent people and as long as there is a warm body present, the blind leadership is satisfied. Documentation errors, falsification of records, nothing gets the attention of the CEO as long as patients can be admitted. The best part is, real proof does NOT change a thing! Blind leadership rules this location and organization. Admit patients, don't ask questions, don't challenge anyone, and don't demand people actually do their jobs; this is what Select wants and our blind leadership appreciate. Stay away as a patient or family. There are much better facilities that care about quality in our city.

Pros

Company is committed to long term relationships with employees that are career minded. Compensation is competitive for similar jobs in this market.

Cons

Company upgrades critical monitoring equipment with refurbished second hand equipment rather than new. Working environment is very challenging and demands the advantages of utilizing the more advanced type of equipment to better ensure patient safety.
