Pros

The main pro is the team. The other employees — particularly therapists, care coordinators, and billing team — are all very good people. They support each other and are there for each other. They try to stay positive through the chaos, and are all great people.

Cons

Too many to count! Here’s an overview: 1. The CEO is awful. He has absolutely no regard for his employees. The employees are overworked and extremely underpaid — especially the care coordination team. They are blatantly not cared for, and the pay isn’t even enough for someone to uphold a humble lifestyle. 2. Lack of communication: This is shocking. Often times, as care coordinators, we discover things from the clients rather than the management. We are reaching out to clients about their appointments, and they say “oh my therapist said they’re leaving the company tomorrow”. Then, we have to go back over to management and ask what’s going on, and only then are we told that the therapist is leaving. It makes us look like absolute fools in front of the clients, and is so infuriating. This happens so often. We also often don’t get notice if a therapist calls out, and neither do the clients. So, the clients are calling in asking why their therapist isn’t showing up for their appointment, and we don’t know either. Then, it’s a wild goose chase for us to find out what’s going on. All we can do is apologize to the client and say their therapist was sick, but we know that if the roles were reversed, the clients would be a charged a fee. 3. Poor technology: the technology provided to the employees are very poor, with a wide array of technological issues. The platforms used for both the clients as well as the employees is extremely inefficient. For a telehealth company, this is unacceptable. Clients often have extreme trouble joining their appointment and if they don’t join in time due to technological issues, they are charged a $100 fee. Only recently did they start introducing rescheduling options to avoid the fee. 4. No raises or incentives. It feels like a company rooted in greed. They say they don’t have funds for their employees, yet they have lots of money to host a big company anniversary party. 5. Very unfair policies towards clients: the policies upheld toward clients is very very unfair, and it’s the care coordination team that ends up having a talk to the clients when they’re (understandably) angry about it. Some of the policies — rescheduling, late cancellation and no-show fees (VERY inflexible, even in times of considerable sickness or emergency).

Pros

NONE. Absolutely would not recommended

Cons

Hmmm. Where do I start. Literally this company hired about 20-30 new clincians in various states... Beginning roughly in may of 2023.... And had trouble getting clients for those clinicans... Despite us therapist insisting we would do our own marketing.... They continued to say "they have it under control" and come September 2023....they LAID OFF almost everyone!!! Literally fired 20-30 people within half of a day. We all woke up with no explanation as to why we had a random meeting scheduled with someone we've never met....right before an all staff meeting.... And were fired on the spot. Clients were not given notice... OH AND, during the zoom call when they were firing us all....they locked all of our accounts, emails, etc so we could not access ANY of our items immediately following the zoom call!?!?! VERY SKETCHY... They said "today is your last day" to literally over 20 people (only keeping MAYBE 1 person in each state) on the drop of a dime. VERY unprofessional. I had a couple of clients and feel that it is unethical to do that to those clients.

Sensible Care Response
2y
We appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience at Sensible Care. We are disheartened to read about your dissatisfaction, and we extend our deepest sympathies for the inconvenience and distress caused. Our aim is to maintain an open and honest dialogue with our present and past employees. The decision made in September 2023 was indeed a challenging one and was not taken lightly. Due to a shift in market demands, we found it necessary to realign our resources and focus primarily on meeting the growing needs within California, where a significant influx of clients necessitated a larger clinician base. We understand the abrupt nature of the transition may have caused discomfort. Our priority was to ensure that all affected individuals were informed personally before any public announcement was made. We acknowledge the concern regarding client notification and transition, and we have taken steps to ensure that all clients received the necessary support and information to transition. At Sensible Care, we continue to learn and evolve. We are indeed hiring, with a concentrated focus on regions where demand has surged, in order to effectively serve our clients and provide stable employment opportunities for our clinicians. We welcome former, current, and prospective employees to reach out with any further questions or concerns. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and thank you once again for your feedback.

Pros

I can honestly say that I am blessed to be here. Before applying here and having an interview, I made a "dream list" of what my ideal job would be. I have to say, it exceeded beyond what I was wishing for. I enjoy being here because I am able to share ideas, enhance my skills, a place where the CEO allows me to bring my child to work, and the support from each and every team member. The work-life balance is important to me and I am happy to be at a place where that is implemented. We get a Mental Health day off in August! I feel valued, seen, and given an opportunity to advance in my career. I have been here for less than a year and was given a promotion and raise. There are opportunities to join social event where you can meet co-workers or even join social chats and connect with one another. Sensible Care is the place to be!

Cons

None, but it would be nice to see more faces in the office.
