I’m sorry your experience at Sentry wasn’t positive. However, I disagree as to how you’ve described our culture. Our environment of open and honest communication isn’t a façade but how we do business internally and externally. When issues arise, all employees have outlets to safely share their concerns so—together—we can come to a resolution. Javier Sotelo – Sr. Director of Talent

Pros

Some team members are great to work with

Cons

There is a major power struggle within this company. They preach team atmosphere and team work but its everything but a team environment. Team members make you feel worthless and some want you to know that they think their above you.

I strongly disagree with how you’ve described the culture at Sentry. We all work toward the same goals, and it takes all of us working together to achieve those goals. If you’re having conflicts, please reach out to your manager or Human Resources representative to discuss. Javier Sotelo – Senior Director of Talent

Lacks Flexibility

Pros

Decent Pay - though there are times the company evaluates fair market and you suddenly find out you’ve been underpaid and are brought back up to fair market value for your position. Decent Benefits - they recently changed their FMLA policy to be more strict and less flexible with regards to the calendar year. Ability to move around the company - there are always open positions and movement within the company.

Cons

Poor flexibility with hybrid schedule - if you’re sick don’t expect to be able to work from home on non-work from home days. The option is to work from the office sick or use PTO. Poor willingness to protect disabled employees’ privacy for even moderate accommodations - recently with the change of the work from home flexibility the company now requires doctors note requesting accomodations for any reason you may need additional work from home days but also for in office accommodations like use of the one and only wellness room in our office where you can deal with medical needs. Every other privacy room (including that one) are now lactation only rooms. Divulging my entire medical history to my employer is not acceptable. Can be overwhelming in some areas when they refuse to increase staff that’s left the company and instead just reduce the number of people in a unit. You are expected to be willing to take on additional corporate projects with your work.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to see your positive outlook on the Total Rewards benefits package Sentry offers to our associates and the ability to grow in your career. We understand workloads can fluctuate, and that’s why we strive to provide a positive work/life balance through our hybrid work model and other additional resources available to all associates. Additionally, we want to make it clear that we’re fully compliant and supportive of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and we ensure that all of our associates receive fair and equal treatment. Thank you again for your feedback. Javier Sotelo – Senior Director of Talent
