Micromanagement and mismanagement in accounting and HR that leads to big turnover and low moral
Employees in accounting enjoy micromanagement. The desks are monitored for the amount of paper on them, the placement of pens, picture etc. Talks among employees are discouraged. 2-3 minutes about work are still ok. Don't let the job posting fool you: sense of humor is definitely not welcomed. {Edited} has a cold attitude with the employees and usually conducts conversations thru {Edited}, who is the {Edited} accounting department. By the way, {Edited} does not have any power in directing and managing team, he/she is there just to communicate the {Edited} wishes. Morale in the company is pretty low, especially in these departments. Any rule violation will be reported to HR where they are happily put it into the employee file, to prepare for their 2-3 year turnover activity.
HR welcomes you, especially their {Edited}, but they are there to save the management and not deal with the employee. There was a point where {Edited} forced HR reps to come up with reasons to fire certain employees, hence turnover in HR department is big as well. Certain employees did come up with evidence to write up other employees. This process of getting rid of the employees usually takes 2-3 years.
