Pros

pay is ok - not great but better than other firms I have been at. Availability to training for computer programs that you may not have otherwise been trained on.

Cons

benefits - insurance leaves a lot to be desired. Within the last year it feels like we are all now on the Seyfarth version of Big Brother. Everyone walking on egg shells - don't feel like anyone has job security anymore. Definitely not the same place it was when I started. Definitely doesn't care about the "work/life balance" as they claim to and have been recognized for. There is no such thing - they say the firm supports it but they most certainly do not, especially for women. It is sickening to see emails sent out by management about being named a top firm for this when in fact it couldn't be further from the truth. Local HR department very unresponsive - department has no one with any HR degree. There is no sense in complaining about anything because if you are not in the click - you have a better chance of winning the lottery than something ever being done about your complaint. Just not the same place it used to be.

Worst administration , office a total mess

Pros

Nothing absolutely, nothing. They don't handle anything in a professional manner

Cons

The entire office is a disaster, no communication, the office administrator is a hypocrite and lies and talks behind people's backs. H.r. is a huge joke they don't value anyone's hard work and they just have clicks between H.R. and the administrator. The office needs a professional revamp and the start is by firing that hippie unprofessional office administrator. Holiday parties are super cheap at a restaurant, and bonuses are absolutely ridiculous. Very cheap firm

Strange Leadership

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Excellent labor and employment practice, decent work-life balance, but not much else to praise for a firm that pretends to have cutting-edge position in legal services industry.

Cons

Leadership does not include overwhelming majority of attorneys and staff in SeyfarthLean marketing initiatives, which is strictly reserved for partners with largest books of business and their sycophants. Closed compensation system creates rampant mistrust amongst partners, which trickles down to how associates and staff members are treated, which generally is badly. Firm's leadership gives wildly inconsistent messaging as to how promotions and career advancement works. Have seen large outflow of talented income partners and senior associates in recent years. Firm's response is to hire more contract lawyers and junior attorneys to replace them. Billing procedures are from the Stone Age. Clients would be shocked that a firm that pretends to be as innovative as Seyfarth claims to be would have such inefficiencies on their billing and accounting functions.
