Pros

Human Resources: Excellently trained staff, that are sincere and empathetic of the shop floor workers concerns, salary, and incentives. Truly do care about the men & woman they hire. Follow up with concerns & complaints and are fair and impartial when dealing with punishment of my co-workers that deserve it more times than not. Management: Is better than mediocre when dealing with the workers on the shop floor, they do not get pushy as long as you are doing your job & completing well communicated goals. Very fair & thoughtful regarding concerns in safety & vacation time. For the most part they are good planners regarding manpower utilization. Upper Management: Prior upper level management was there for a very large pay check, however, new management is all about walking the walk and talking the talk per se. They value "the little guy", after all we are the ones making the company all the money directly, which past upper management could care less about. They are finally investing their time, resources, and relationships in the shop floor culture and concerns. Pay & Incentives: Pay is fair to those that work hard and show up to work steady and on time- the way it should be. Quarterly bonuses are nice. Overtime: If you want a chance to work overtime and make more money, you can 100% work every weekend, of course if my co-workers were not so lazy weekends would not be required. I hear them complain all the time, yet their breaks exceed the maximum break time & when they are on the line working more than half have poor attitudes, so I don't see required OT going away anytime soon. Everyone complains about their wages, mainly the younger generation that wants to top out the pay scale in the first year, so don't listen to people who have worked at the company for a short time.

Cons

Co-workers: unmotivated, ungrateful, lazy (in general), take too long of breaks, cell phone usage is out of control, complaining and bickering and overall attitudes on shop floor are poor. Middle Management: They should get paid MORE than what they are and for what they have to deal with. Attitudes of my co workers are poor, they supervisors are held accountable for low productivity. But, how can you hold them accountable for production when the workers are lazy with bad attitudes. I have personally heard my co workers say, "they don't pay me enough, Ill be d"@^ned if these supervisors get paid more than the guy making the company money while they sit around barking orders." "just because someone has a degree don't mean he deserves a wooden nickel in my book" "these supervisors been fed with a silver spoon and never got their hands dirty" "Ima take as many breaks as i want, he can get out here and work a little for once" "time to go use the phone booth, i mean the bathroom, to check my Facebook" "i hate my supervisor, he makes me work like he actually does anything all day" I could go on and on and on, i know i don't want their job just because they deal with all the crap on the shop floor. everyone kisses upper managements butt and will throw their supervisor under the bus, just because he/ she makes them work and tries their best to achieve the company goals and objectives. How much do supervisors make? I know i make more than some of the supervisors make & don't think its fair.

Pros

Good benefits, tuition reimbursement

Cons

Plays favorites. Shape will use you and take all that they can from you, then they will get rid of you and treat you like trash. They keep the employees around who are not an asset to the company but will get rid of their good employees. They allow employees to come to work under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Supervisors curse at you and talk to you very disrespectfully. Shape pays less than all of their competitors. Pay people their worth.
