Pros

Solid company culture; great manager where I was at; benefits are good; great work-life balance.

Cons

Low base salary which is exasperated since copiers is a slow sales cycle unless you get lucky and land a big account; copiers is a dying industry and only going to get worst post-COVID since more people are working remotely; No existing buying accounts in my territory, which makes it tough since the industry is extremely competitive. Depending on your territory, you may feel isolated without teammates to text and learn from since there was not a lot of training. My cons and two-star rating have more to do with the industry as a whole than Sharp itself. I personally recommend looking for a growing industry and company that pays a higher base salary. Copier sales is only going to continue to trend down.

Pros

Sheltered from Foxconn for now...

Cons

Sharp is essentially a subsidiary of Foxconn with all directions have to be vetted by Foxconn before any strategic can take place. That means there is no innovation. AT the CES 2019 you can clearly see the traffic flow between Sharp and Samsung. Sharp was next to Samsung and Samsung was so packed that people can't get in, but Sharp was like a wasteland compared to Samsung. Also there has been rumors of changing everything to profit centers, that means no more innovation. Everyone also seems to be scared of Foxconn. I will be trying to move to its competitor Samsung as there are better prospects. After all, the office is right next to Sharp. Sharp is sinking and for those who are still there...hope Foxconn don't treat American workers like the Chinese...
