Pros

Pros of working here is one week of vacation first year, two weeks the second - fourth year and then 3 weeks 5th year. Pay is unbeatable for entry level around the area.

Cons

Management pretends to care about what you need, but they do nothing to help you. They have no idea how to do any job, so don't expect to get anything out of them.

Pros

They pay for this job is about as good as you can get in my area and we were payed weekly and on time.

Cons

Management were too focused on themselves and would not commit to something if they thought that it would be incorrect. Focus on safety was over the line to the point that people were afraid to do their job. Management was indecisive and I often had to re-do work that was done like they wanted. Shaw was supposed to be paperless yet I signed at least 10 sheets of paper a day that were usually lost or duplicated within a week. They focused on on job safety by installing gates and fences that only hourly employees had to use while managers were allowed to enter through unguarded entrances and the gates and fences installed did not alloy employees to leave easily if there was an emergency.

Overall I have enjoyed my 20+ years with the company.

Pros

The company makes an excellent product of carpeting and hard surface flooring. Upper management is very business wise.

Cons

Women do not have the opportunities to advance in their careers like men do. Few opportunities for cross training to learn skills in different areas for future career opportunities. Getting promoted is often more in who who know vs. what you know. The company is not cutting edge. Tend to follow instead of lead in the industry. Not very competitive with associate benefits.
