VERY understaffed, causes environment to be stressful at times, managers can be tough but that's common everywhere.

Pros

Department managers are normally very easy to get along with and will work with you if you need time off if you let them know in advance. Pretty relaxed work environment, not a lot of pressure. I started working there in High School and after I left for college every summer and winter they would give me some hours while I was home on break.

Cons

The pay is very low. You may not always be able to get as many hours as you would like, especially working in the checkout department where there are so many employees. Moving up is not easy unless you are buddies with the manager.

Pros

Decent pay and benefits, health insurance. Met a lot of great people over the years and developed a relationship with customers.

Cons

Corporate was very set in their ways and wasted time and effort on irrelevant programs while letting customer service and store presentation and item availability decline. they never listened to any suggestions on how to improve. our store ended up closing resulting in layoffs.
