Not a long term option
Pros
Shaws is a great place to work if you need a flexible schedule while working your way through school or if you need a day job while your kids are at school. Fairly easy to accrue vacation time.
Cons
The more you need your job, the more the company will take advantage of you. In order to become a full time employee you have to be willing to be transferred to another store, often with less than a week's notice. You can go from working five minutes from home to working over and hour from home without even a wage increase to make up for the extra expenses. The company attempts to take as much control over you as they can by limiting control of where you work, when you go for licensing tests (which result in a pay increase), discouraging co-workers and managers from writing letters of recommendation, and laying off long term employees to cut payroll costs. If you rely on Shaws as your career they will take control over your life and limit your opportunities to find other employment.
