Great promotion of work-life balance, diversity & inclusion, safety of employees, etc.
Pros
- Work is challenging in a positive way - Lessons learned are invaluable - A lot of opportunities to grow and deliver projects - Generally laid back working culture, it's up to you if you want to stress yourself out (depending on how high of a performance bonus you want to target)
Cons
- If you are part of the Shared Service Center, you will not be treated as a "Shell employee" by those who are in manufacturing plants, etc., but rather as someone who is just from a BPO industry - Culture of delivering as many projects as possible makes it a competition with your colleagues and not with yourself - Structure of giving out performance bonus makes it a rat race - Power tripping of boses in some departments are a huge turn off - "You're either with them or against them" political culture - You have to make yourself be noticed by the higher ups (not just objectively) if you want to go up the corporate ladder
