Pros

1. Excellent flexibility with taking time off. 2. Treated like adult professionals. Don't take this for granted, as that's not true of many employers. 3. Work with great colleagues. Good atmosphere, positive attitudes for the most part. 4. Job stability. I've been here for more than 20 years and have never worried about losing my job. 5. The company contributes handsomely to our 401(k).

Cons

1. Pay is average/below-average. 2. Like most places, we have our share of rules that are in place "just because that's the way we've always done it". 3. Some people seem to have been promoted beyond their competence. But that's true in many places.

Pros

Freedom to run your own business, help from local district manager when needed

Cons

Alot of regional and corporate level politics to deal with, ton of useless bureacratic reports and paperwork to file with corporate and region on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis which takes a lot of time away from your workday, you will be promised the moon but don;t expect to get it even if you produce for them

Pros

Shelter insurance is good for engineers who are just out of college. Good place to get experience and hands on with technology. For experience person, if you like working on same system till retirement, then stick to shelter. Otherwise, look for other good employers

Cons

Benefits are not good and health insurance sucks. Nepotism - People are promoted on the basis of BIG SHOTS they know in the company. Even Janitor can be manager at shelter. Technology wise, its still way behind others. Only few people have say in the group. Rest all are ignored. Change - Forget about getting one. Managers are just puppets of Management. Don't have say in anything. Salary will be incremented in 25cents per hour. Performance review is just formality.
