Pros

I loved my co-workers and kids. The benefits are great and I'm off on weekends. The school location is close to me witch I like because I don't drive. And when ever PGCPS is closed for students because of bad weather were off with pay.

Cons

The administration team is a joke. There mostly spineless yes men and don't stand up for there staff. The behavioral team is a joke. Most don't know there job or even have the proper credentials for the positions that they have. The principle who interviewed me was very unprofessional an was later terminated for misconduct. The level of in your face racism is unbelievable!!! Only if your white or jewish will you be promoted or get "special treatment".

Pros

The pay "can be" good and you are helping the community.

Cons

Hours - Departments' are understaffed so each employee is expected to work long hours. Benefits - Very poor for a hospital. My wife works at a large regional hospital and her benefits are 50% less for the same benefits. Work Environment - It is brutal. Be prepared to document all your activities and keep documentation. You will need it when someone attempts to shift blame for their mistake and this applies to people as high as directors. I have been in a professional environment for 30 years and have never seen it so bad. Management: I have never had such poor management. Most people live in fear. Lastly, Management Lacks integrity and that is a major selling point for me. If you cannot trust anyone, it is time to leave.

Pros

I love many of my coworkers and that is probably why I’ve stayed so long. This is a good place for an entry level job. The job Is very rewarding and I really enjoy working with the adolescents. I really found myself here and I do appreciate that. You can also transfer within 6 months. But the pay changes can even decrease depending on the position. That is ridiculous!

Cons

1. The pay SUCKS. They just raised it to $15/hr because they had practically no staff. Before they gave us that they gave us a minuscule 2% raise for cost of living which meant nothing because they raised EVERYBODY to $15hr. The raises and cost of living increase was a scam and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. How is it fair that I’ve been at Sheppard Pratt for going on 3 years and give someone who just came the SAME amount as me! It’s a slap in the face! 2. Managment sucks. At least for my unit many of my coworkers have stated our frustrations and they have not been heard. He lacks social skill and appears to be racist because he can’t even look any of us in the face. Most of my coworkers are in fact Black. 3. You have to work so much overtime to get a decent check. 4. Sheppard Pratt does not appreciate it’s employees. 5. Some managers show favoritism.
