Pros

The health insurance and benefits are relatively good.

Cons

Don’t expect issues to be handled competently. Don’t expect loyalty and support as an employee. Resign yourself to 2% raises. Don’t expect them to help and support you if a patient harasses and threatens you. Do expect them to be unhelpful, unsupportive, and obstructive when given the opportunity. Do expect them to lay you off on short notice and as insensitively as possible. Do expect to be told by the transition coordinator that “We can’t be everything to everyone. You are no longer conducive to maintaining our finances.” Expect lots of corporate speak and minimal sincerity. And whatever you do, don’t ask why their employee turnover is so high. Or why so much of the revenue goes to pay their C-suite. Don’t ask why the CEO needs 4- yes 4- admin assistants while they lay off dozens of longtime employees claiming their finances “can’t support it.” For a company that is meant to care for mental health, they seem to go out of their way to destroy it for their employees. Save yourself gray hairs and heartache and work elsewhere.

Pros

Conveniently located on Charles Street in Towson.

Cons

As a former employee, I feel compelled to share my experience, which was nothing short of a nightmare. The environment was toxic, and discrimination was not only tolerated but seemingly encouraged. The blatant prejudice against employees by certain individuals within the institution. The president is narcissistic. It was apparent that his primary concern was his own image and reputation rather than the well-being of staff. Communication from the top-down was virtually nonexistent, leaving employees feeling isolated and unsupported. When issues were raised, they were met with hostility, creating a culture of fear and silence. Some C-suite officers struggled to assert themselves as true leaders in the presence of the president, whose domineering demeanor overshadowed any semblance of teamwork. My decision to leave was not made lightly, but rather as a last resort after enduring intolerable conditions in a workplace that had devolved into a cesspool of toxicity and hostility. In summary, my time here was marred by discrimination and a complete lack of leadership. I would strongly advise anyone considering employment here to proceed with extreme caution.

Pros

The patients are lovely and some good coworkers.

Cons

If you get injured on the job worker’s comp will ghost you and leave you with a hospital bill to pay off yourself. On top of this, there is no contact for HR or Worker’s Comp so you cannot even try to get in contact with them. There is also no room for growth. You will constantly be put in unsafe working conditions with poor staffing ratio and incompetent coworkers. Most of the people working there do not care about psych patients and just want an “easy” job because they’re burnt out from bedside nursing and think they’ve “done their time.” 90% of the people that work there hide in the nurse’s station all shift just watching tik toks or answering facetime calls in patient areas. The whole place is a walking liability and a risk to any licensed individual.
