Pros

My co workers were wonderful. The benefits were good.

Cons

The senior leadership was so out of touch with the direct client/patient work. There was no support from senior leadership. If you had a problem (stalking) with a client.....you had to deal with it yourself....no support. If a person was injured...only support from co-workers. The CEO makes over one million dollars a year. Yet they closed special needs schools and closed over 20 other programs.....people lost their jobs and health care.....patients lost services. My entire experience with Sheppard Pratt has been nothing less than corporate trauma. My suggestion is to move on to the next job ad....don't do it!

Pros

The health insurance and benefits are relatively good.

Cons

Don’t expect issues to be handled competently. Don’t expect loyalty and support as an employee. Resign yourself to 2% raises. Don’t expect them to help and support you if a patient harasses and threatens you. Do expect them to be unhelpful, unsupportive, and obstructive when given the opportunity. Do expect them to lay you off on short notice and as insensitively as possible. Do expect to be told by the transition coordinator that “We can’t be everything to everyone. You are no longer conducive to maintaining our finances.” Expect lots of corporate speak and minimal sincerity. And whatever you do, don’t ask why their employee turnover is so high. Or why so much of the revenue goes to pay their C-suite. Don’t ask why the CEO needs 4- yes 4- admin assistants while they lay off dozens of longtime employees claiming their finances “can’t support it.” For a company that is meant to care for mental health, they seem to go out of their way to destroy it for their employees. Save yourself gray hairs and heartache and work elsewhere.
