We have strict protocols in place to guide our responses, and all staff undergo continuous training to handle patient behaviors with professionalism and compassion. When workers compensation is necessary, Sheppard Pratt follows Maryland state law to determine how payments are structured. Under the law, the first three days are considered a waiting period and are covered using leave accruals. After that, payments are provided as mandated by state law.
