Toxic Work Environment

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Work remote 3 days at the office, 2 days WFH. Last week of the month is entirely WFH. You get 3 weeks to work remote so that you can work from anywhere.

Cons

Employees are stressed, due to low staffing and low sales. Communication is limited and is “sugar-coated.” Toxic people that have worked there for many years are rewarded (tacitly) for unethical, harmful and nasty attitudes and actions towards new team members. Depending on what banner you work for you have a shelf life. They prefer young people out of college to mold their way. Very few Leaders at the top making the decisions have zero fine jewelry background. HR is not your friend here. They claim to want to change the culture but nothing is done.

Pros

Working from home, understanding and flexible with scheduling if part time, they provide equipment

Cons

Customer Service Agents are treated like shields that take the brunt of angry customer complaints due to the poor running of the company. For serious issues, we aren’t given the tools to actually help customers but instead have to escalate them and can’t give them a time frame for when they’ll receive a response. The company promises items to arrive by a specific day and then especially around the holidays completely drops the ball, leaving agents to deal with verbal abuse from customers who’s orders wont arrive in time. Supervisors claim to be there to help but in many cases could be rude and unhelpful and would brush you off when you really need help. Training is long and a joke, after 4 weeks none of my group really knew what we were doing once we got to taking calls. Extremely long hours daily leaving no room for a personal life or a work/life balance. You’re not allowed to disagree or criticize ridiculous company polices when speaking with guests which makes the guest mad at you for things out of your control. This job destroyed my mental health.

Not “People First”

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Great insurance benefits and 401

Cons

After being here several years I watched the company make lots of $ and spend lots of money to purchase competitors yet when it came time for manager bonuses the plans became ridiculously high where it became impossible to achieve. Don’t get me wrong. I did Well here but being here to watch year after year of plan increases of 20% or more was too much. So they implemented “people first” which was to include employees as well. They made it a 40 hour work week instead of 48. Sounds good right? Well. If your any type of leader. You work way more to achieve Plans. You use your PTO to help your employees when they lower payroll where there’s barely coverage to help all the guests. Your health declines because of the stress to achieve all the extra work that comes with not having enough payroll to have employees helping. And basically watch the ceo on tv talk about how awesome her team is at achieving these numbers without talking about how they didn’t get bonuses. If you’re good with that. Then this is the place to work.
