Pros

I have been trying to look for a job where I feel like I fit in and I get the flexibility and no micro management. Its been an year since I started working and this is the first job where I am motivated coz I want to work not coz someone wants me to complete work by certain date and time. I like the team and the working atmosphere here.

Cons

No place is ideal. There are always pros and cons. I agree with others, that health insurance is not something you want from Sikich. Also, its still accounting based even though Sikich has spread wings into Technology. A lot of traditions and methodologies, time entry, profit-sharing and bonus structure that applies to accounting is followed by Technology teams. Which definitely needs to change as employee motivation goes down a lot.

Not an Ideal Place to Progress

Pros

Large company, multiple locations, work remote offered, constantly growing through mergers, looks good on resume

Cons

Favoritism, nepotism, extremely clicky, office politics and who you know/ how long you have been there/ what office you work from take precedent over work performed and client satisfaction. Unfortunately Sikich has grown from a small, family friendly environment into a bottom-line, numbers driven atmosphere. Lack of transperency. Knowledge will not be shared and long standing employees will not let you in the "inner circles". Upper management is more worried about impressing the Partners than growing and nurturing an employee friendly environment.

Pros

Nothing is good about this company.

Cons

Promotions and raises aren’t about skill or tenure anymore. If partners don’t personally see your value, you’re stuck. Leadership used to be supportive, but now managers dodge people and dump work just to avoid writing review notes. Outsourcing has only made things worse. Work‑life balance is a joke. Everything revolves around hitting your hours, and everyone knows the only way to survive is to inflate them. Management knows it too, they just won’t admit it. That’s the culture. Staff and seniors are the only ones who actually communicate. Managers and partners barely read emails. The environment is toxic, and it’s not changing. Hours drive revenue, so if you don’t hit them, you’re at risk. But if you put too many hours into a project, that’s a problem too. It’s a no‑win system. Overall, it's very toxic and draining.
