Pros

Entry level growth, free food (breakfast/lunch).

Cons

*Silk makes all employees fill this review out a few weeks into employment when you don’t know anything about the company or values, and many reviews on Glassdoor are filled out by management* Very limited vacation or time off, if you have any time off management will talk behind your back and make you feel bad for living your life outside Silk. Very small click that controls the energy within the company on a daily basis, usually negative because of ego. Few changes in management, you will not get far in this company being good at what you do, only if they like you. If they do not like you, they will get rid of you with little warning or reason. CEO will stalk you on LinkedIn on a weekly basis if you work here, guaranteed. You don’t feel good enough working here, and always feel like an outcast unless you sell your soul. Even then, you still may need therapy when it’s all said and done.

Pros

Friendly coworkers, fun events and meals provided.

Cons

The upper management is very clique-y. In my time there many people were fired without warning (which is legal is RI, but it still doesn’t mean it was acceptable). I personally heard the CEO making less than kind remarks about another employee. I don’t think they intended those words to go beyond their office but the walls are thin and the CEO is loud. Every day multiple coworkers expressed worry about management letting them go. They say that you can take time off in emergencies but they make you feel very guilty if you have to. My direct supervisor picked favorites within the department and it was very obvious in the way she treated us all. I am so happy that I no longer work there.

Pros

Did u guys know Mark was once in the same room as Jeff Bezos? So impressive lol.

Cons

People get fired all the time. People quit all the time. Evryone having panic attacks at work. THe turnover is so bad they had to hire a recruiter to become our new HR person. Always firing so always be hiring. This HR person also brags abt drowning out the true negative reviews on here by having management spam fake positive reviews from fake email addreses.. Theyll send you home with your WFH equipment in the winter but still make you commute in the snow the next mourning. Silk did not observe Xmas or New Years bc both fell on Saturdays. Instead they made us come in to the office even though there was 0 work to do. Sometimes they let us out early but more often they keep us as a captive audience and force us to play “fun” games that reinforce our training. It’s mandatory fun and makes me feel like I’m in the fifth grade again studying with my class for a social studies quizz. So no holidays off and also you get five vaca days a year. If you try and go on vacation, you maybe fired instead. Your vaca days do not roll over and you won’t get paid out unused PTO when you leave. The shifts are allover the place. Each day you have a different shift. Instead of opening a west coast office, everyone works a noon to 9pm shift once a week on the off chance someone from CA calls in. This company asks for the most and refuses to do the least. If you somehow make it more than two months here without bein fired, you’ll still prolly end up bein fired at some point so best bet is to always be looking for that next job.
