Pros

Staff is a nice group of people, mostly young and new to the industry. Lots of opportunity for overtime (see Cons).

Cons

I've been in this industry for 20+ years and have never worked anywhere with such high turn over rates. In the less than 1 year time frame I was with Silk I saw 50% of the staff turn over. People would walk into the board room for a meeting with the Executive team and then leave the office never to be seen or heard from again. Management who claim that communication is their highest priority would never communicate where those people were. Management expects you to work overtime when they get busy and have no qualms about firing a team member at month end and expecting you to work more to make up for it. They'll tell you that you get lots of free meals, and you do, but that's because they're understaffed and need you to work overtime to make up for it. Pay is average for the industry, benefits are lousy. If you leave before 1 year they will NOT pay you for the PTO you have earned and while the law may allow for this, it's not the right way to treat people.

Thank you for your review. We value our employees and do offer overtime to those that do want to take advantage of earning extra money. We continue to evaluate our benefits, as we do offer Blue Cross and Blue Shield for our medical. A matching 401K program. A health benefits program that does earn employees credits. As well our employees have earned bonuses as well. As with any company, we do have turnover, but the statistic mentioned above at 50% is not accurate at all and very high. Again, thank you for the feedback as we are always looking at ways to improve out company.

Pros

At Silk, there is an exponential opportunity for growth and hard work is definitely rewarded. Executive management is always thinking of ways to make processes better and more smooth for employees. The company as a whole is forward thinking and always ahead of the curve. The environment is a fun one to work in and allows everybody to be themselves. Everybody operates as one big family; there are no egos and everybody works together towards the same goal. In the time I have been at Silk, I’ve watched so much growth and I know it is just the tip of the ice berg. I recommend Silk for any person that wants the opportunity to grow with a company that will continue to grow for years to come!

The day I was able to quit.

Cons

If you have the choice of being unemployed or working for this company, stay unemployed. This is by far the WORST company you could work for. Its unfortunate that the lowest you can give is a 1 star, as they deserve negative. From low pay, terrible/expensive benefits, short staffed, poor management, barely any sick/vacation time, constant turnover, and the list goes on. The company has a turn over every few months, the staff never stays. Stay as far away as possible!

Unfortunately this is someone trolling Silk. As this is similar to the March 28th review that we already responded too. Glassdoor does not do a good job of monitoring for fake reviews.
