Pros
Profit sharing Won't be laid off right away, just sent home without pay when it gets "slow." Don't worry though, they'll keep at least 3 people on overtime while you're being sent home.
Cons
Slow to adapt to change Low pay compared to other companies in the industry (This includes engineers and maintenance which both affect the quality of support Operators get, response times for "down" tools, as well as additional "busy work" being created for Operators that doesn't really serve a functional purpose and has nothing to do with improving safety, quality, or output. ) Vacation is granted on a first come first serve basis. Shift leaders will accommodate people who have been working there longer and allow them to put in for vacation outside of the terms of the company policy despite business needs (read: more than 6 months in advance and allow more than 2 weeks at a time to be taken off, however more recent employees will be forced to adhere to company policy when requesting vacation whether there is an actual business need or not. ) No formal written policies. Everything is subject to change without notice. Sometimes hourly. Draconian sick leave policy. Company requires "FMLA" paperwork filled out including the "reason for illness" for any and all sick leave which is a violation of HIPAA laws, citing the State Government is making them violate the law. This is of course false and just demonstrates that their HR is not up on current laws and that the company is taking advantage of its employees by actively discouraging any use of company (or State paid) sick time.
