No Quality of Life - Divisive Nature

Pros

Relatively good pay, benefits, and 401k at DC

Cons

No quality of life. Don't care if you're sick, will call you off work hours, change your schedule regardless of family life, constant cya approach when addressing problems. Upper management makes decisions based on personal benefits, not what's best for company. Constant in fighting between Sirius in NYC and XM in DC. Probably the most toxic environment I have worked in several decades. Example: latest blood bath fired dozens of 15+ year employees.

Pros

My coworkers (with the exception of my boss) were great to be around. They were very nice and helpful, and I was sad to leave them.

Cons

My boss was so rude and tone deaf towards my personal struggles. The worst (and most disappointing) experience I have ever had in media - company and boss wise. I was interviewed for and promised a hybrid role. Only, when I started, I had to fight weekly to receive my promised hybrid days. My boss was the biggest sore when it came to this too. When I told her I was struggling to pay for gas, she compared me to the new guy (and more or less said he was doing better than me). She told me we are all struggling to pay for gas. Except, she had insurance/benefits (when I didn’t) and probably makes more than $18 an hour. Oh yeah, THE PAY IS HORRIBLE. SiriusXM is the lowest paying job and I have ever had. It was so depressing and impossible to pay anything towards bills once taxes are taken. I constantly struggled financially and expressed this to my boss — SHE DIDN’T CARE! It was always, “we are all struggling”. I also constantly was asking to be trained more to learn their extensive programs, and I never was scheduled to be trained (despite weeks of asking). When I finally was at my wits end begging for hybrid days because gas/inflation is so high, I quit but offered to work two more full weeks. My boss, knowing how I am struggling financially, knowing I voiced the same concerns since day one and was met with no solutions, said for me to not bother returning to the station. She wouldn’t even allow me to return to drop off my laptop - fedex was scheduled to pick it up instead. Oh yeah, I also was making graphics that every producer and host loved. Then same boss told me to quit making them because I already had a job at SiriusXM — and it wasn’t in graphics. She muted my eagerness to do more with the company. So unprofessional. So rude. So mean.

Pros

Are there any? The location would be the only positive.

Cons

The executives at the company need to be replaced. The company will never be innovative with the current leadership.
