Pros

Solid company executing well for quite a while. Skyworks has good technology to offer and has well established relationships with key customers.

Cons

There is considerable geographical separation between sites which historically come from different parent companies. The collaboration between these sites is not always as close at it should be.

Better than the GaAs competition and financially stable. With cash in the bank there is no immediate threat of extinction. Excels at squeezing value from operations. Opportunities to succeed did exist but ......

Cons

A financially driven company focused on quarterly performance to the detriment of long term investment. Narrowing of the product range sees Skyworks becoming more like a Power Amplifier / Front End Module company and not much else. Exposed to disruptive technology undermining its business. Clear favoritism in retaining long term employees over new blood. Politics and factionalism are evident. Engineering competence, especially of long termers, not as high as it should be.
