Smartsheet is growing rapidly and it shows. There are plenty of opportunities for professional growth as an employee (promotions from within, training, etc.), but also opportunities to impact and help shape the company as well. Pay is very good and benefits are even better (free medical, stock options, work-from-home, and much more). It's a great product and my colleagues are outstanding.

Cons

In any growth environment, change is inevitable. If you are uncomfortable with change, uncomfortable with ambiguity, or not looking to be pushed to 'reach' professionally, this company (and honestly, other tech orgs too) may not be a good fit.

Great Mobile Team

Pros

The mobile team is growing and supports a nice product. The schedule is fast but reasonable, and code quality is high. The other developers take pride in their work and take merge reviews seriously. The Senior and Principal developers are strong and understand the apps well. The team is fully remote, spread across the US and supports developers in any time zone in the continental US. Salaries are high, especially for people living outside of major cities.

Cons

Occasionally deadlines are firm. Some developers have worked weekends to meet a release date, but this is rare.

Pros

I began at Smartsheet during COVID and the onboarding process was smooth, efficient, and effective. The team is incredibly intelligent and is always looking for ways to move forward and innovate. They welcome all ideas, big and small. The leadership is very caring on a personal level, and the product itself is also amazing (and widely used internally). It really feels like a startup or small company (every employee feels important), but with the structure and capabilities of a large company. The perfect combination. Constant communication from leadership makes us feel like we're all on the same page, and after 18 months of working here I still love it as much as I did day 1!

Cons

Smartsheet uses a lot of different software, which could probably be condensed/simplified. They're also still on Gmail and Slack, and I would prefer Outlook/Microsoft Teams.
