Pros

Great product, great culture, fast moving, stock is healthy.

Cons

Been here for over 4 years. It feels like they over-hired AE's, so the account distribution has thinned out considerably. Compounded with the tough economic conditions in tech, it tough selling environment. Maybe you'll get a good book. Maybe you won't. It usually takes a year to figure out how to sell the marquee products.

Pros

Still a remote first company.

Cons

Used to be a collaborative workplace where employees would feel a sense of purpose. Now its all hunger games to stay "visible" and "impactful". Everyday is a slog, filter for Engineering org for reviews!

Pros

Smartsheet is a great place to break into SaaS sales and learn a lot. There are great and smart people at the company who all help one another. Fully remote, at least when I left

Cons

Being at Smartsheet for a number of years, there has been growth in all of our teams and a shift to remote work with a lot of growing pains. The pay is now under-market and the only way to increase is to move up but that is becoming hard with how many sales reps they have hired in the past year. Leadership (directors, VP) have been at Smartsheet for too long (5-10+ years) and is in desperate need of new people. The product itself is awesome but can be harder to sell in certain business segments. Beware, furloughs have been happening. I left a few months back and head the ship is continuing to sink. This company is losing direction and I do not recommend.

Smartsheet Response

Thank you for providing feedback about your experience and sharing your appreciation for what makes our company so great – our people. As Smartsheet continues to grow, we’re building systems that scale beyond where we are today and that requires everyone to challenge assumptions, learn new skills, and rethink the ways they work. Change can be demanding, and I’m grateful to our team members who embrace the opportunity within these changes. As we close out our fiscal year and look ahead, I’ve never been more confident in our direction and the opportunity we have to continue to lead our category. As a leadership team, we are committed to supporting the career development of everyone at Smartsheet and proactively identify ways we can support employee growth. Within our Worldwide Field Operations, 21% of employees were promoted internally in the last year – that’s 310 people who have advanced in their roles, many of which were leadership positions. Whether it’s taking the next step in their career journey, or deepening skills and knowledge they already have, we believe career development should be employee-led, based on unique needs and motivations. If you’d like to continue the discussion about your experience at Smartsheet, I welcome you to reach out to people@smartsheet.com. Thank you again for your feedback. – Mike Arntz, Chief Revenue Officer & Executive Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations.
