      Political and Uninnovative, But Great WLB

      Pros

      - Easy to hide - Becoming a true microservices company - flexible pto that people use - comp is high relative to interview bar, basically getting google money without leetcode

      Cons

      - Every team is an independent fiefdom. - Merit is pure politics -- spin is everything at smartsheet. - fairly un-innovative, people in general don't care about their craft as engineers or the product at large.

      Biased and Ambiguous Promotion Path

      Pros

      I have given 4 years to Smartsheet and have been loyal over the years. But I am now working with a manager who is passive-aggressive and pedantically reviews & scrutinizes my work. I have never had a Manager micro-manages me and calls me out in front of the entire team. The CS org has often time changed promotional paths and did not inform CSMs. Recently, my CS Manager used racial slurs in a 1-1- meeting.

      Cons

      Very disorganized and homogeneous- the CS org has transformed into an institution that cannot determine its future path, nor can they communicate clear protocols!

      The CPTO and leadership are the worst. They have no vision and leads to a lot of churn. Features you work will never see the light of the day.
