Pros

The company has an efficient model for servicing small to mid-size associations. Some great people to work with. They invest in professional development and are very active in Association Forum and other industry groups.

Cons

Focus is on efficiency rather than quality. The matrix model discourages accountability and the emphasis on cost control means most of the people servicing the associations are very junior. An efficient machine, but prone to mistakes and poor quality.

Pros

SmithBucklin is a financially healthy company with a good culture and opportunities for growth.

Cons

Work/life balance for those in the service units (events and accounting especially) seems sometimes nonexistent. I'm not sure those individuals always know what they are getting into.
