A place where leadership truly cares about individuals

Pros

I've finally found an organization where leadership doesn't just say they care, they actually show it. I've been with the company for a few years now. I still remember that first week or two where one of the owners invited me to go to lunch with him. During this lunch, he focused on getting to know more about me as a person and genuinely showed interest in my past experiences and thoughts about what Snap Tech could do better. This wasn't just for show - he was actually engaged and listening. This is an organization that actively seeks feedback from everyone. Through the EOS L10 process, every single employee in every department is given a voice to talk about anything they feel are issues. Sure, not every issue is discussed every week but it remains on the list until it is addressed. I've found the organization to be extremely flexible with me. While I'm one of those people that actually prefer to work out of an office, Snap Tech has always allowed me to work remotely if I have a sick child, a delivery, or some other various reason I needed to be at home. Overall, I feel that I am paid fairly for my job. I've turned down multiple offers to go work for other organization (even those with higher salaries) because of the company culture and quality of life I have with Snap Tech. I've worked in this industry for many years now and finally have a place where I can leave work at work. I'm not expected to spend every hour of my personal time worried about more work than one person can do. That's not to say we aren't busy, but the organization values a work-life priority. This is a place where we truly "work to live and not live to work." Is it perfect? No. There is no perfect organization. When issues do pop up, I feel heard and all parties involved generally do work to reach some form of understanding or compromise. As a sign of appreciation, one of the owners learned that he and I share the same hobbies. I arrived home one afternoon to find an unsuspected package on my door step. As it turns out, there was a very nice piece of gear pertaining to that hobby waiting for me. It's a great example of the efforts made by Karl, Shawn, and Randy to show appreciation for people. While I've received bonuses and such from other organizations, I've never received such a personal sign of appreciation. Needless to say, I have no plans to leave the organization anytime soon. Work is work of course, but Snap Tech IT makes work so much more bearable than I've experienced anywhere else.

Cons

I don't have much negative to say about the company. I wish I had more vacation time, but the amount of vacation time offered is comparable to other organizations I've dealt with in the past. I guess we'd all like more vacations though right?

Pros

- Christmas bonus in cash - You'll learn a lot, which you can use to get a much better job with a much better company and not stay stuck in the mud at this place.

Cons

- Pay is incredibly underwhelming for the amount of work you do, the micro-managing you have to deal with, and all the other headaches you'll encounter. They expect you to just be fine with incentive-based pay. - As previously mentioned, the micro-management is through the roof. - Raises are nearly non-existent. Incentive-based pay doesn't motivate anyone. - Very numbers driven company. If you aren't consistently hitting the numbers they want you to, you will be reprimanded. In my experience, they cared nothing about context. - Toxic environment in general and full of office politics.

We agree. We are a numbers driven company. We do want to ensure everyone is staying on top of our customer's needs and we work to be very clear about this. Many team members thrive by having a clear set of expecations, they know what good looks like and like objective data to help set the tone. That being said, we also hold regular meetings and personal one on ones to get our team members input on the numbers and what is working and not working. We are sorry to see this person felt this meant it was micro-managing and Toxic. We will take this to heart and constantly work to improve our work environment. In regards to the pay for the FRT role, this is essentially an entry level role and we look to find people with education, the right attitude and some technical abilities. We put everyone on paid for training plans and offer bonus for those who achieve new skills and certifications. We are sorry this person felt the pay wasn't in alignment with thier abilities. We are very upfront about what positions are paid and work hard to ensure that it is fair and inline with what others pay for similar duties.
