Pros

Owners = I like all three of them a lot. They want to build a good company. The owners are also pretty open with their big-goals of the company and give regular updates of these goals. Moreso that some other companies I've worked for. My favorite thing about the company was my fellow staff and the customers. Though I did notice that for the time I was there, we averaged close to double the industry turnover rate. But overall the company is growing. Christmas bonus in cash was a nice little plus. They pay for some limited training, but it's good stuff like technology certs. Most all of my coworkers and myself really enjoyed solving things for the customer. Even when it meant putting in extra work, I really liked the tech team and the customers. Another plus was when the company started to recognize that some customers treat the IT techs badly. This was rare as most of the customers were amazing. But a few of them were difficult to work with. It was a plus when Snap Tech worked with those customers and in a couple of cases, parted ways with those rare customers. Has some insurance benefits.

Cons

Very numbers-driven. -- I saw a couple coworkers cherrypick tickets like crazy or they would create many tickets per phone call to increase their numbers. The cherrypickers would be held up as good examples in meetings. Middle manager = micro-manager The middle manager/director is still there according to their site. I witnessed him yelling at people from his office, or coming up behind another sys admin yelling and brow-beating them telling them to do things while the admin is in the middle of fixing a customer's issue. Other middle manager experiences I was a part of- -- One review he tells me I need higher numbers and because of my numbers I get no raise that year. I ask him what numbers are the expectation and he wouldn't say. I pull out my own documentation of last year's review where he and I set a goal for me to increase my numbers by 10%. Then I pull out the reports of the past year where I exceeded those goals in every category and improved 25% instead of 10%. No matter, no raise. Two other coworkers were so upset and crying after their annual review and later confided to me that they had a similar negative experience with ignoring defined goals that they had met. -- In a meeting, a coworker says that they started their lunch 20 minutes late because they got a call at 1 minute before their lunch. The Middle Manager says to just "take one for the team" and shorten their lunch period. But no pay for the extra time worked. -- The Middle Manager demanded that everybody get to work for a meeting 10 minutes before their start time, but we don't get paid for it. 50 weeks times 10 minutes a day, that works out to roughly 33 hours a year of unpaid mandatory work time for each person. That's probably some lawsuit waiting to happen. More of the working extra time- Like many IT companies, we did after hours "on-call" which is fine. If we logged ticket work in the extra hours, then we wouldn't get paid overtime, we were told we could take "comp time" off later. The problem was requesting and getting the comp-time granted. Several times I had hours of comp time that took 3-4 months to get approved after 8-10 attempts. Sometimes I, or fellow coworkers, wouldn't bother requesting the comp-time as it was too much hassle. Maybe they've fixed that since I left.

Thank you for your review. We find your list of cons as helpful feedback. As a principle judging performance by objective numbers is seen as a fair way to approach. Your comments about micromanagement and not being aware that some are cherry-picking is well received and we will look to improve that. Of course, not all employees do this and sometimes the fit between a manager and a team member is just not good. It's always hard to figure out when its systemic or specific to a situation of the people involved. We can say that we do want to improve our management team's ability to be effective. Recently we have initiated a management training process to improve the ability of our middle management team. As a growing company we have found ourselves leaping from an owner lead model to having a full leadership team that has meant the addition on more management team members. We are sensitive to the need to do a good job with this. We appreciate your feedback and will look to find ways to improve on your cons listed.

Pros

-GREAT Pay -Amazing Environment -Empathetic Management -Respect employees personal life -Fulfilling work duties and the chance to build rapport with friendly clients -Plenty of PTO and Sick days -Upper management is extremely chill -Micromanagement is non-existent -Powerful software to help manage clients -Room for mistakes and understanding of humanistic faults -Loyal to employees, and will have your back if customers step over the line -Learning atmosphere with an emphasis on helping teammates -Owners are experienced, and care about employees' personal lives -Standing desks -Tailor to employee comfort(desk height, custom keyboard, trackball, etc) -Culture breeds ideas and appreciates them -Pay for Certifications and promote growth internally -Job security due to reputable product differentiation -The amount of learning is astounding, and people are willing to teach you *** I have worked in organizations where the ideology is best described by the phrase "knowledge is power." Where coworkers aren't willing to share information due to fear of Job positions and entitlement. THIS IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE.*** -Although I had to take opportunity elsewhere, I cannot express how amazing this organization is. I learned more here than all other past jobs combined.

Cons

-Inability to keep workforce contingencies/ workload gets heavy if staff leaves. -Clients can be entitled and at times very needy. -Work Chairs need replacing -Workstation equipment could use some upgrades -Knowledge base(Instructions) could use a bit more attention -New employee training needs updating

Thank your kinds words. I agree that keeping workforce contingencies is always challenging as workload can increase quickly sometimes, especially with new clients onboarding. I like your advice to keep focused on investing in the employees.

Thank you for your review. As a company that has grown in our sophistication and had to learn how to better manage our business, there was a time that reviews were not done consistently. This is a fair statement from a time in the past. I can proudly say that we have dedicated HR resources today and that reviews and bonuses are consistently done. This has been true for over 3 years now. In regards to no backbone with abusive clients. This is something I am concerned about on the occasions it happens. 2 years ago we began a process where we evaluate our customers as a management team. If a customer is not meeting our expectations or otherwise abusive with our team, we now have a practice of firing the customer. In fact in the last two years we have fired about 4 customers. All of which were because of the way they treated our team. I regret not learning that lesson sooner, but I do feel we have found the right path and do stand up to clients who are abusive.
