Decent software practices, but bad project management

Pros

The front end architecture is excellent, and the teams working on internal initiatives like that are great. You can learn a lot from the other engineers here and grow your skills. Senior management was good, middle management was hit-or-miss.

Cons

At least while I was there, project management was terrible at times. I routinely worked 60+ hour weeks to get things done on time. When we had months-long crunch times, some management folks couldn't understand where bugs came from! The week I gave my notice, we were just told we'd need to work every Saturday for the next month.

Pros

Softrams has a strong sales team as they are able to crack many projects for company growth and uses the latest technology stack where you get a chance to work on. Being a technical person, still you will get exposure to the product in a good manner at a broader scale.

Cons

PMO keeps saying work life balance is important in open platforms via town hall meetings and emails to the team but never implemented. Few PMs are so rude with the team when there's a prod issue which happens when our work is so unplanned by agreeing every single thing to customers irrespective of timelines.Many resources who contribute individually need to work late evenings and weekends which become culture here. Exceptional timings are acceptable but most of the time we are forced to include the weekend in our planning hours. Though we take capacity of each resource but never bothered about how much time the team spent to calculate if the planning is wrong or the resource couldn't make it in time as planned. Need to dig in those details and plan to fix them.

Cons

Lack of communication as of late. Many many hats to wear and needing to switch. Under staffed. Sudden changes in bonuses that they gave out.
