Cons

Higher-ups are extremely stubborn. They insist on automating everything, which is both unrealistic and impossible. All manual testers are forced to automate a system that changes drastically daily. As a result, there are hundreds of regression suite failures daily, which we have to groom through. Developers couldn’t care less about automation failures. There is absolutely no return on investment with automation at this company. We could test things manually in a quarter of the time it takes automation to do it. Testers spend 80% of their time investigating daily automation failures. Managers insist that’s the best way to approach testing, which is comedy. Generally speaking, the environment is extremely chaotic with no solid structure, terrible planning, and disorganized releases. Speaking of releases, we usually get a day to run full regression, which stresses everybody out. As a result, people are forced to work long hours. quitr a few QA members quit recently and for good reasons. The turnover will only increase from here, which is why I’m thinking about leaving too.
