Pros

Thinking hard to think of one...

Cons

As a Vista Equity Company it was managed only for bottom line. They came in and terminated one-third of the work force. This prompted one-third to resign. In the end almost no one was left who knew what was happening. Lots of middle and upper management turnover. Worst acquisition I've seen in my career.

Pros

Absolutely nothing, but if I have to say something I would say the fact that we work from home/remote. However, I have always worked from home in a sales role. I was hired being told it was a mix of inside/outside sales. There is absolutely no outside sales option involved- it is a glorified call center and you are expected to make 40+ calls a day and they track your every move.

Cons

This is by far the worst environment I have ever encountered. I have had 4 managers since I accepted the job only a few months ago, there is barely any training, and all they care about is you calling 100s of random dealerships (which haven't been screened) per day trying to sell their multiple software products they offer without even truly knowing what you're selling. The "management" team think that by micromanaging it will increase sales numbers and revenue when in return every AE is completely miserable and has one foot in and one foot out. I have led a team before, micromanaging does NOT work. Not one person on my team is happy and there is no leadership or guidance. It's truly unbearable. It is a call center job and you are micromanaged every minute of your day. Do NOT take this job. If I were paid a million dollars I still wouldn't work here. That is truly how horrible the company is since it became acquired by Solera. Supposedly it was better as Dealersocket, but it has gone downhill big time since they were acquired by Solera. It's a burn and churn company and they don't care. RUN!!!!

Pros

If you are an entry-level person and need work experience, then work for Solera, get some experience working for a bad company, then get a better job!

Cons

The truly sad part is that this used to be a good company to work for. Teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism were encouraged and valued. Raises were rare, but the culture and environment were good. After the private equity firm took over the day-to-day operations a couple of years ago and filled upper management with puppets and "axe men" with no leadership skills whatsoever, things went downhill fast. Upper management's style can best be described as "bullying". Downsizing and outsourcing are part of the corporate world and that's something we have to live with, but Solera goes beyond that. Professionalism and respect for those who were left to do the work does not exist. Customer contracts are also ignored in the name of saving money. Technical decisions are made in a vacuum. When legitimate technical concerns are brought up, we are told to "just do it". If someone holds up management's unrealistic timeline for a project or makes a mistake, then one is publicly humiliated in group calls with colleagues, contractors, and customers. Do not be fooled by the propaganda. Solera's products keep losing customers. I hear that Solera is still acquiring companies, but I am sure this is to just spread their sizable debt to those companies.
