1) My fourth day on the job, head of human resources looked me right in the face and said "well if everyone worked as hard as this person (points to girl next to her) we wouldn't have to hire anyone ever again. She's doing the job of 5 people, it's just that no one else wants to work". lol ok.
2) everyone is so overwhelmed, you might not get a lot of time with your manager once hired. people are starting and leaving left and right, and it's really hard to understand who to ask for what.
3) backend systems aren't linked - not just product, but the internal stuff too. i couldn't get a company credit card and my job required a lot of travel or last minute marketing purchases. i and a few other people had to put thousands of $$ on our personal credit cards for business travel and expenses would take a while to process. i never got access to whatever system to open a PO... much confusion.
4) another c-level person was really rude to me, but i later heard that he physically pulled a VP off a stage during a presentation... like put hands on a person in front of over 100 people.
5) overall, a ton of crap talking. there are a few employees who have the ears of the execs and these younger people think the toxicity is a good thing, because they're on the positive side of it. but ultimately, the general treatment of all employees is terrible. you're seen as "new" no matter how long you've been in your profession, whatever your qualifications.
6) two women were fired in the three months i was there. i'm sure more than two were, but these two were totally out of the blue. seeminly no reason other than what i mentioned in point 5. crap talking led to an executive decision and people were fired.
7) you're expected to work and be available all the time. i wasn't, i would walk away and leave my phone ignored. but the workload you're expected to cover absolutely requires 20 hours a day of work. there's no way to succeed.
8) also in three months, two other people went off on medical leave. that really couldn't have been anything other than mental health leave. another employee that quit on their own is in therapy for ptsd.
9) there's more - only 4 paid holidays in the us, acquisition integration is going poorly, customers are angry, vendors aren't getting paid, no communication from c-level, the vc doing all these acquisitions doesn't seem to understand tech, i don't understand how this company will even survive
