Pros

Good health insurance and not expensive

Cons

No growth opportunities. They’ll tell you for months that you’re going to be moved up to start doing something else that they consider “moving up” but when the time actually comes for that to happen then there’s always something else that’s happened to prevent it. In 4-5 years the state I worked in was fully staffed 1 time. High turn over rate. In 4-5 years , there was 30-40 different PHAs in just one state. 4 regional directors that was over the operations of the state, and at least 3 chief operating officers. RNCM & PHA get more and more work thrown on them and higher expectations day in and day out. Nobody is on the same page from the PHA’s to the training team. It’s the most disorganized company, so many patients get thrown on the back burner or even missed because Somatus is more focused on getting new people engaged in their program than focusing on the patients that are already part of the program, and being more Focused on making sure they are getting what Somatus has promised them and is supposed to be doing.

Pros

Opportunity to work from home. Reasonably fair wages.

Cons

More focus on metrics to increase profitability opposed to providing the service for best out comes for the patient. Huge, unrealistic caseloads. Salaried position but frequent overtime to meet metrics and deadlines. They do not compensate for all out-of-pocket expenses incurred with performing your job. Leadership changes are made based on how well or poorly (preferred) the individual treats the staff. HR is not up-to-date on labor laws requiring individuals to be persistent with obtaining what is due to them. Management is not responsive or accurate in their assessments of employees based on preconceived opinions. There is a culture of disrespect. No opportunity for growth. Revolving door.

Pros

Personally witnessed them perform patient targeting. Personally was asked to operationalize a quid pro quo arrangement between Blue Cross, Sanitas, and Somatus.

Cons

Choose differently. There are far better options out there.
