Pros

Most of my peer coworkers were great. Most of the devops and data lake stack was solid. Mostly insulated from pressure to produce from above, so relatively easy to have good work/life balance. Product managers I worked with are good. Fully remote options for tech.

Cons

Unstable working environment. Many people tasked with actually innovating and improving mental healthcare through the product have now been laid off, including executives. Members of the tech org remaining have reportedly been tasked with "keeping the lights on". Direct people management in my experience was not good. No bonuses; comp was bad for people who didn't come over from an acquired company. Severance was a joke.

Pros

Mission is something anyone can get behind Free Swag on a regular basis If you put in the work there are opportunities to move up within the company

Cons

When I joined the company, they really seemed to care about the Mental Health of their employees. Even though the workload was tough, it was easy to be motivated as you felt that everyone worked towards a collective goal. Fast Forward to more recent times, the Customer Operations department has been overhauled 3 times. The leadership has been a constant revolving door because they are tied down on what they can do. The department is short staffed but they refuse to hire additional support. This has lead to everyone taking on additional responsibilities without extra pay. The support agents were even forced to do mandatory OT, which they might still be doing to this day. The team is burned out and the morale is really low. The departments don't communicate with each other. Everything is reactive and yet the company was able to purchase other companies and laid off a bunch of people last year. They just laid off another round of folks. Another big issue is the way that their billing is done will cause clients to be bulk charged months after receiving services. They don't proactively verify benefits like every other medical company. For a company that preaches to support Mental Health, this is added stress for already vulnerable individuals.

Pros

Good values, a company that is doing good things in the world, awesome coworkers

Cons

Powerless managers mean you can give all the feedback you want, and they will listen compassionately, but they can’t do a dang thing about any inefficiencies, bad processes, poor communication, systemic problems, salary, attrition. They stopped listening to their agile professionals, and removed bonuses, and it’s been a steep decline ever since.
