Pros

Dane is one of the best people I've met, he truly loves his company and cares for his employees. The people you work with are fantastic, they make the company. Surprise... surprise.... this is no different than most other companies. Most departments at Sonic have a hybrid or remote work option. Great company if you have just graduated and need to gain experience for your resume. Sonic likes to and will promote from within, but this becomes a double edge sword I'll explain below.

Cons

Middle management is grossly lacking the skills necessary to effectively and efficiently execute their job. When Sonic promotes from within, the people that obtain promotions while good at their job, are not given the training or freedom they need to succeed. Nor are they empowered by upper management to actually be effective at their job. There's a new culture shift happening with the immense pressure all are under but the pressure lacks direction and standard operating procedures. As a result, cross-department coworkers are finger pointing and becoming cut throat towards one another instead of working toward a common goal.

Pros

You can get hired with minimal experience. The company culture is big on being nerdy and casual. You don't get hassled for calling out sick. Essentially, it's a step up from fast food and retail jobs.

Cons

While the pay is a step above retail and fast food industries - it is crap for the tech industry. Starter positions pay well for what they are, but advancement is difficult, requires a lot of time at the company, offers little to no pay increase and is often given to people who buddy up to management. Management itself is very, very weak. This company grew in size too fast with too little preparation for leadership. Most of the supervisors and managers were not hired because they make good supervisors or managers, but instead because they were the best at what they do in their department. There is zero quality control, so most departments have huge, frightening problems that specific managers turn a blind eye to and will go unresolved. TL;DR If you have the experience and drive to find a real job in the tech industry, then don't waste your time applying to Sonic. If you have no or little experience and want a cozy place to work while you learn more about the industry and brush up your resume, then Sonic is a much funner company to work for than most other starter jobs.

Pros

The people are great, the atmosphere is unlike any job I've worked. I learned a lot here its a good stepping stone for better jobs. The company parties are insane benefits are good they let you mold into your own type of work ethic.

Cons

The pay is lower than what in and out employees make which isn't fair for how much responsibility you have. Not much opportunity for advancement. For being a tech company they should pay more. Constantly dealing with frustrating issues that you didn't create for peanuts. Bottom line pay your employees more especially the tier 2 NOC techs that do 3 times a s much work as the support department and get paid the same.
