Pros

Get a lot of flexability as to how to run business A lot of good relationships get formed Earing potential is above a lot of similar companies Probably a lot more fun than similar companies Ive been in management at Sonic for many years and I dont want to leave, because on promotional days, I can let my crew wear superhero costumes. Or we can do a 50's day. And I can surprise the ladies at the bank with free drinks just because I feel like it. All of that builds business and I cant imagine that those things happen at Wendys or Arbys. The pay varies greatly from location to location. At one location, I was only able to pay my right hand man $9.35. At another, im paying someone in the same position $15.00. My pay has also varied, and by switching franchisee locations, I doubled my pay. If you are someone who doesnt like to be micro-managed, likes the flexability to build sales YOUR way (while still adhearing to obvious standards), and enjoys something a little more fun and laid back, choose which franchise you work for carefully!

Cons

Can be very poor pay at some locations Youre always on call You dont always get to pick how your day goes, given that equipment breaks a lot, people call in, and you sometimes have to juggle many many things at once. The biggest con is that some of the customers are extremely unreasonable, will cuss at you, throw food at you, and can completely ruin your outlook on the job. They arent in a big building with certian social standards. They are in their car and they are just talking to a speaker box, and sometimes they forget how to be kind to people. The second biggest con is that things break all the time. If youre having a good day and youre about to walk outside to your car to go to a baseball game and suddenly the grill stops working, it can make you question your life choices. The Sonics I run have always been successful, and all-in-all, I cant imagine working for any other restaurant.

Pros

I get to work with some truely awesome people that I genuinely care about and inspire me to do my best every day.

Cons

Average of 80 to 90 hours a week, which brings my hourly pay to $8.65, upper management has unrealistic expectations and will tell me to send home crew half an hour before major rushes because labor is high, leaving us severly understaffed, leading to sub par service and exasperated crew members.

Cons

Long hours but well with the pay out, haven't been here long enough to see any real cons.
