Pros
I worked at Captioncall for a few years, starting in 2017. Back when I first started, I thought this was a great place to work- the company seemed to really care about its customers and employees alike, and I had a good work/life balance. It was still operating solely in the US. The training was simple and easy, and the job was even easier, as long as you stayed on top of it. It was a good place to work while I figured out my life situation with school, etc. They were very flexible with schedules, vacation, sick time. They paid a little over minimum wage at the time, but we always got bonuses, overtime or time and a half when it was very busy. So in general, it wasn't too bad. A Lot of young people worked here because many of them were students, but it was also a fun environment where I met friends. What I miss the most is probably the connections I made, and the memories while working here.
Cons
I left before the pandemic started in 2019, and returned in 2020. After I returned, everything in the company changed drastically. Most of the people I use to work with either left to work from home, or they simply left. Most of the management did as well. They made it difficult to get a work-from-home job, so I had to come into the center. They did their part in providing cleaning supplies and such, but I didn't know at the time that the company sold out. Little by little, we were not getting as much overtime as before. We were not getting raises, bonuses etc. The system somehow got worse and I was being called into the office literally every month for 'discipline'. The mistakes on the system were always blamed on me and it seems they were always trying to find something wrong to get rid of people. Yet at the same time, they were hiring. Then one former employee sent out an email to everyone in the company to let us know how much the company had screwed us up with the pay, and he and everyone who responded to the email was fired. I left in January 2022, before everyone was fired over Zoom. It's very sad the way this company sold out and screwed everyone over, considering that at the time i started working with them, I considered them to be one of the best companies around.
