Pros

remote, set your own schedule

Cons

No opportunities for advancement. The software being used to caption is horrible. You can talk perfectly clear and it'll still put something way off from what you said. You're reviewed monthly but no increase in wages if your performance is great. The score needed to hit for the monthly performance review is only getting higher and they make it more tedious to caption. For example, we used to be able to get by with saying "you are" for "you're" if the software didn't pick it up, now it docks off points during your reviews. ITS THE SAME DAMN WORD. They're in the process of remodeling the company so they're cutting hours of all CA's. There is now a shift bid basically. Split into three groups. Group one: Has the most security, with not having to bid at all. Group two: Has to bid but more than likely will get approved. Group three: You're on your own kid. You'll basically only get a 5 hour weekly schedule. THATS ONLY 10 HOURS ON YOUR CHECK.

Pros

Flexible hours and fair pay.

Cons

Changes were made with the new ownership. They hired too many interpreters and made other policy changes which are making it VERY difficult to get hours. Interpreters are having to fight to get enough hours and are logging in multiple times per day to look for available hours and having to take short shifts just to get some hours in.
