Appears on the outside as your final destination on the career path but quickly turns into a daily "Nightmare"
Pros
If you like high pay but a schedule of uncertainty this may be your "dream job"! As a whole the company has a goal to make this your "last stop" for career path. When you quit someone else always folkows your lead. Almost two years and six driver quit and all of quit in pairs. Don't worry if you make the mistake of hiring in, when you wake up from your nightmare someone will be quoting with you. "FOR YOU ARE NOT ALONE"!.
Cons
Management is young. In the Mobile Service Center the manager started out at 18 with SEFL now 28 and is still really immature when it comes to managing men that in some instances are twice his age. He is very easily intimidated by guys that have been there for years. The "buddy system" is alive and growing in this service center. As a new guy more times than not you will be asked to do the stops or pickups that in some if not all instances the veteran guys refuse to or make excuses not to do. The outbound supervisor is a great guy but is one card short of a full deck. He has made bone headed decisions and loves the "buddy system" I spoke of earlier. You call in at 6 in morning to be told to be there in 30 mins, 45 mins, up to but not limited to a couple hours later. In the slow time of the year you are rotated off days only to see the good ole boys be rotated from the truck but allowed to work the dock for 5-7 hours to make their time.while you the "not good ole buddy" sits at home either without pay or use one of the three personal days or vacation time you have so you don't starve. Oh and all the while still hiring new drivers during this rotation time. No growth oppurtunities due to you have to be in the "kiss behind" click. Pay per hour is fantastic but low for the amount of work you do and they don't pay overtime. They really starting trimming back the hours you put in. They started to cut you down to an averse of 45 or less a week. Plain out a bad mistake and nightmare that you will wish you had woke up before you agreed to go aboard. SEFL Mobile service center is "The Titanic" you don't want to be in!!! Got out as quickly as I could but still gave that place to much of my time and life!
