Pros

Free snacks, fun company events, the coworkers and the animals.

Cons

Ownership seems to gaslight medical staff quite often, promising changes to improve company culture and then not doing anything about it. The most vocal owner, who I won't name here for privacy, is a getting a reputation as a false prophet...promising the world and falling short. I'd think they'd realize that the reason so many people are leaving has to do with being overworked and under-appreciated and watching stress take its toll. I'm going to give it another few months, but I'm looking for other options.

Passionate team and great place to work

Pros

Sploot is a great place to work! Everyone on the team is kind and genuinely cares about providing a better experience for pets, pet parents, and employees. The founders are passionate and since it's a newer company, there are lots of opportunities for internal advancement. The good benefits (including pet benefits) are a plus as well :)

Cons

No cons so far, have enjoyed everything! My background is not in the veterinary space, but from what I've heard this seems to be a very different and more positive work environment than what you typically see in the industry.

They can be great for some people.

Pros

The pay and benefits could be worse, and the team events are fun.

Cons

One of the main things Sploot advertises is that they try to get rid of the toxic work environment you find at many other vet clinics, and if you're a long-time friend of management you may feel that they do a good job! But for others unfortunately there is little to no leeway. There is an immense amount of bias from management and gossip throughout the different teams. Each different team and clinic has their own cliques, just like other vets.
