Pros

They really did hire some crazy smart, fun people at the Austin office (this is the reason so many of us stuck around until the layoffs for sure)

Cons

The Nebraska leadership folks are a mess. The CEO and the other "I've been here for 7+ years so that means I qualify as an executive" do not have the experience to continue running this company. Plain and Simple. I've never worked somewhere where I saw so many people crying in the bathrooms or hallways on a weekly basis. No one had the tools to do their jobs well or smart. There is no tech here except for what the dot com team built (in 4 months)- everything else is done manually through excel. The company mantra of working long hours "we are already working when other companies are just turning their lights on" mentality was ridiculous and I am thankful Austin leadership ignored this. It was a weird trip to work somewhere like this and I can honestly say getting laid off was my happiest day there.

Pros

You will meet a lot of great people. Made some life long friends during this time. You may work on things that you never thought possible at your age or experience level (great for you, bad for Spreetail). Pay was ok.

Cons

There is no direction and the super-ego of the CEO who’s never had another job, is what’s going to drive this place in to the ground. The “heads” of the majority of the departments have no business running anything. They don’t care about any type of regulatory compliance. There’s no Clear direction. Everyone knew the .com wasn’t going to work, but no one would listen and if you legit voiced your concerns, you would be walked out the door. CTO has way too many ‘relationships’ that shouldn’t happen, CEO has no clue what he’s doing, this is the only job he’s ever had. The person running warehouses should be running a call center.

Pros

There is a lot of employee engagement, and events to enjoy.

Cons

No work life balance- (60-70) a week Promise you the world to get you in the door and almost no follow up Management is awful, Micromanaged (Bathroom breaks were logged by supervisor) Salary sounds great until you realize the hours you are working don't equate to much I was asked to quit my one day of night school a week (class did not start till 6pm) because I had to leave by 530pm once a week. (they knew this when I started)
