They make you think it’s great but it’s not.

Pros

Overall good people to work around and they have fun social events and happy hours. You will have the opportunity to take on big projects and learn a lot.

Cons

You will be overworked. They will paint a pretty picture and the office is full of bright colors to make you think you’re happy but the majority of people aren’t at the end of the day. They will grossly underpay employees for the hours worked, job performance, and amount of money they help bring in to the company or help the company save. The ecommerce market in general is unstable and so therefore the company is too. Profit margins are low and transparency into the long term goals of the company are unclear. The stock options are misleading yet they have them in place of a retirement plan. Their “benefits” do nothing for the employees long-term. Free trips don’t count. The unlimited PTO is a cop out so they don’t have to pay employees out after they leave and you are expected to still work even over the days you take off and especially on holidays. Moving within the company is difficult and is not employee centric. They hire customer experience specialists by telling them they will move within the company but that rarely happens. They do a lot for the communities they have offices in but it’s only strategic for the company in the end. They make sure everybody knows about the good they are doing and are not humble about it. Numerous companies make huge donations and allow employees to do service hours and they do it for the good of it instead of the publicity.

We appreciate your feedback. It’s important to us that we create a great place where people are proud to work. We do also recognize that we aren’t perfect, and that our culture isn’t for everyone. We’re also proud of what we’ve built. For example, personal and career growth is at the core of who we are at Spreetail; even our CEO began as a Customer Experience Specialist. We set big goals for ourselves and for our business, and work incredibly hard to reach them. And our community impact initiatives have created tremendous impact in lives of our team members and in the communities we touch. Our New Beginnings mattress donation program, for example, has helped over 175 families successfully transition out of homelessness in Lincoln, NE. Again, thank you for sharing your feedback, as it is essential to our continued improvement. We wish you all the best.

Pros

-People, some really incredible people work here, made lifelong friends -Nice offices, free lunches here and there

Cons

-Terrible management, notice I don't say leaders, micromanaging at the highest level -For example, head of company looks at single part numbers and emails about them, get a life dude...if you spent more time on bigger issues maybe you guys wouldn't have lost nearly half your team this last year. Or maybe you would actually be thriving instead of caught in a sinking dumpster fire. -Company trip canceled even after hitting revenue goals (still on the website though) -Toxic management (catch the theme) -People are grossly underpaid, except for software -Market themselves as a "tech company" but really Spreetail is just another bad 3rd party online retailer -Lack of transparency on failures, numbers, etc -Awful leadership (hopefully you caught on by now) -People only get promoted if you are liked, much of the leadership is incredibly bad due to this. Example: CE to CEO (true story) -Treat people as expendable, which is why nearly all the good people have left Unless you are looking for a place just to learn, stay away.
