Take your seat on a rocket ship

Pros

We don't waste time on the aspects of business that can hold back and restrict potential (bureaucracy, posturing, etc.) We spend time on what matters most: our people. Google's CEO said, "If you're offered a seat on a rocket ship, you don't ask what seat. You just get on." Spreetail is most certainly a rocket ship, it's process and practice is excellent but I'll always argue that our greatest competitive advantage will always will be the people that make up our teams. It's an absolute pleasure and privilege to work at this company and I highly recommend it.

Cons

We are doing big, big things with not very many people. That means the work is never done. We know what we've signed up for but if you aren't prepared for late nights, gritty work, I can see how this career would not be for you and that is okay -- it's not for everyone.

Pros

- Autonomy: everyone is given a lot of responsibility and they are trusted to do their work (very little micromanagement) - Everyone shares the same big goals so there's a ton of collaboration and everyone works hard - Casual dress (only rule is no gym attire) - Unique perks like a yearly company incentive trip, all-inclusive resort vacation after three years employment, option for home computer setup and monthly happy hours/family events - Personal development opportunities (can seem a bit disorganized at times though) - Mostly flat organization, very few titles - Open environment and "fun" culture; for example, there's a bar in the office - Large focus on community service and local values

Cons

- Growing pains are evident in some cases. Management (and the company overall) is very young so sometimes big picture plans don't seem to be thought out or communicated clearly - 45 hr minimum work week (depending on your manager, number of hours spent at work each week holds various levels of importance) - Employees are expected to do the jobs of "two, three or four people" as directly quoted from an exec

Pros

I have never seen a company so excited to watch employees grow. Whether personal growth or professional, Spreetail doesn't hesitate to lay plans to get you to the next level. I feel as though I have shoved 30 years into my 3 year career at Spreetail, learning about myself, my profession, and business in general.

Cons

With such a focus on growth, it creates the need for individual direction. Many of the roles at Spreetail require a certain amount of self direction - sometimes lacking clarity in the "next steps" in your career. This, combined with so many driven employees, creates a risk of being left behind if you're not certain on your direction and self motivated.
