Pros
Good people. Solid opportunities to grow outside comfort zone as a leader. Before layoffs, there was a lot of inspiring work to help shape and contribute to.
Cons
Following layoffs, this place became a depressing shell of its former self. As a middle manager, I was essentially stripped of responsibility and slowly phased out after layoffs -- watching it happen as I did everything in my power to help set a damaged team back up for success. The worst part was knowing I was digging my own grave as I armed my managers with know-how and continued killing myself over job duties when the writing was already on the wall. To echo what others have said, upper management, for the most part are highly inconsiderate people. They will smile at you and pretend to take your informed insight to heart, but end up hanging you out to dry after they fail to act on your suggestions. I grew a lot at this company when it had a real vision. Unfortunately, I'm afraid others I care for are destined to go down with a ship that's been sinking for a year.
