Hmm.. it took me good 10 mins to think. Still nothing.

Cons

Where do we start, the C level have no idea how to run this business. Not sure why the board still keeps them around

Pros

- Work life balance has generally been pretty healthy. No issues with using the unlimited vacation the software teams get. - The team members that I worked with directly were really what was keeping me there. Everyone was generally supportive and willing to help. - I haven't had one problematic direct manager as well. - Honestly before I was laid off things were getting less scrum based, which I now consider a good thing.

Cons

- Let's start with the big one. It honestly seems like they just go through a round of lay offs every year. Sometimes big, as I'm sure those who are reading this closely may have noticed, but some were small, like mine was. I thought I was safe due to my years of experience there but as you would expect was naïve on that front. The reasons given were vague and just left a sour taste in my mouth. - Pay is good enough for Nebraska, but naturally uncompetitive compared to other cities and since they're fully remote for software, they're competing with those cities. - Projects aren't the most exciting. It can get interesting every once and awhile which is fun, but they come up randomly and prioritization can get so messy that it's really a gamble if the cool project they've been talking about actually gets green lite. - All my praise for the team culture and work life balance is specifically for the software department. Teams outside of that department might be different.
