Pros

Decent benefits I guess but that’s about it. Yo do get 20 days PTO too, but you’ll rarely get to use it when you want because management doesn’t care

Cons

Everything. Absolutely trash culture. Must be a yes man no matter what and drink the kool-aid if you want to be even remotely successful here. Management is young and inexperienced. Zero work life balance. You never know what time you start work. You might get a message at 8pm on a Monday saying that you have to come in at 6am the next day. How is that okay? They have zero concern for your personal time. They’ll also make you come in on Sunday’s when they feel like it even though there are multiple shifts/weekend shifts now to combat the load. They don’t take care of the good employees that work hard. Favoritism is played by management. I could go on forever. If there were no repercussions and employees could freely speak their minds without fear of being fired or blacklisted, I guarantee 90% of them would say they hate the place and that’s a problem that they don’t want to talk about or address.

We take full responsibility for not providing a consistent schedule and setting realistic expectations around work hours. To address your concerns, we are working to best understand our workforce demand and provide more information up front. Our hope is that all employees feel safe to speak their minds. We're currently working on improving our feedback process, and will continue to develop our face-to-face, surveys, and manager feedback.

Pros

They (somehow) bring on extremely talented individuals. There are a ton of competitive companies in the area, so kudos to the recruiting team for making people bite (we all fell for it), and even relocate. Word is getting around quickly though, and money (which they don’t have much of) can’t buy everyone.

Cons

Reputable professionals are finding themselves in a bizarre twilight zone, kind of like an amusement park nightmare. You keep trying different rides thinking maybe this one won’t be so bad, or “it will get better” but then it’s one terrifying clown after the next. Even tenured employees are desperately trying to get off the tilt-a-whirl and find the exit. Leadership. Doesn’t. Listen. Let’s face it, they don’t even know what to listen for. They're told what to do by subject matter experts they hire, but they refuse to pay attention or let them do their job unless it falls within their program/blinders. It is a case of the blind leading the enlightened. The outcome? The enlightened are complacent. Well-respected professionals are waking up daily, dreading the cluster that is Spreetail’s lack of process, direction and vision. They’re guilted into mandatory 8am meetings where they are told fluffy numbers and irrelevant financials which mask the disaster behind the green curtain. There is no inspiration, no incentive and no feeling of accomplishment other than seeing their direct deposit still go through at the end of each month. YES, you heard me: they pay monthly. Forced into the company’s smoke and mirrors act, employees are pushed through no-so-funhouses full of mantras such as “be relentless” and “act like an owner” which are ultimately used to remove any accountability or direction on the company's end. Employees are expected to stay for late happy hours, room with their managers or direct reports at events (completely not ok) and encouraged not to innovate, but to work double to make up for the lack of automation in archaic systems. Welcome to the show: you are just another butt in a seat in an employee count metric. The saddest part? These highly rational and tenured professionals were led to believe they had the ability to impact a business. They thought they were going to be a part of something innovative…It is extremely evident the ring leader (Brett) won’t allow experts to do their job unless it is in line with his very immature vision. A vision he has based on having only worked at Spreetail, and volunteered to keep it going because no one else would.

Pros

Relaxed work environment depending on who your department head is. Lots of socializing that occurs, which breeds a closer knit group of co-workers.

Cons

They urge you to write a positive Glassdoor review your first week on the job. CEO has only had one job his whole life and surrounds himself with puppets as opposed to experienced people to elevate the company. Senior management only cares about share evaluation so they will overwork employees in order to "grow" the company, even at the expense of high-turnover and profit loss. You will also be lured by unlimited PTO and leadership retreats. This isn't Silicon Valley. The PTO line is a myth and the leadership retreats will be one of the most uncomfortable, cult-like experiences you ever have.
