Pros

- Mission feels very rewarding - Attracts top talent

Cons

There are some painfully contrived reviews. If you are in sales, this place is probably a great pick for you. This company preys on your sense of duty. Helping people feels good, and this company uses your drive to burn you to the ground for their mission. There is no structure, no one knows who is in charge of anything, and as people keep leaving there is no plan in place for transitions. A common phrase is "since so-and-so left, I dont' know who is in charge of this/that." Simultaneously the company says "take care of your mental health" but they will ask to have your personal phone number on slack (and if something doesn't go the way they want, they will call you). The CEO and CTO both encourage taking on more responsibilities without the compensation because "lives are at stake." There is not a wage where working in this chaos is worth it. The leadership team will put you in a job you are underpaid for, and conveniently not be able to raise your wage or answer when there are questions. They will offer you a lower title in order to pay you less than you are worth. Everything is pushed to the last minute, there are roadmaps and plans but not enough people to carry out these missions, and then teams get punished for not meeting the deadlines (that were artificial anyway). The sales team runs the company, and all the teams are at their whim. Not worth your time or energy.

Pros

Work from home, good benefits and decent amount of PTOs.

Cons

Growing faster than upper management can keep up and it is starting to reflect in communication and beginning to feel very non-start up.

Irony for a mental health startup!

Pros

The overall thought behind the mission is actually amazing. Most employees genuinely care about this mission.

Cons

Besides the great mission and some employees who genuinely care about the mission, there really is nothing great about this organization. Every review you have read here is actually quite accurate. The CEO claims to have this deep passion for mental health and this crazy story about her college experience with her roommate that drove her to start this...but the truth is she could care less about anyone's mental health, especially her employees. It's just another educated founder who has absolutely zero life experience in building and running a company. She keeps trying to hire people to help her through it but doesn't actually understand what it takes to make the right hires. She creates a toxic culture from the top down which leaves most employees to be burnt out especially in a pandemic. Most employees end up engaging in virtual water-cooler talk about the founders and it's nothing positive. The ones who have somehow survived here are just hoping someone somewhere (possibly the board or investors) will read these and hopefully do something about it. Raising money and getting a high valuation is great but not being able to deliver on the company mission is just sad. You provide mental health benefits to employers to provide to their employees, yet most people who work here seem to be jeopardizing their mental health by joining this company. The irony here. The pandemic lead growth helped them reach these heights but surviving this with the founders in charge is impossible.
