Pros

When I worked there things and times were different. By the time I left Stamford hospital I was making good money

Cons

They got new management and everything changed DRASTICALLY ! They "cleaned house" and started getting rid of really great people and didn't care how it affected anyone. They were also too strict abt hours and punching in and out. Almost felt like a prison

Stamford Hospital....Fall from Grace

Pros

In theory, the hospital subscribes to the Planetree philosophy, which represents a passionate culture towards patients and employees alike. The hospital is physically growing and will be a major regional facility.

Cons

Poor morale which is a direct result of extremely poor management. While this was once a great place to work, employees are now leaving at a frenetic pace. Limited career ladder. Chronically short staffed, which leads to chronically unhappy employees.

Pros

The benefits are good, especially since you can get hospital services free. The benefits cost is low, compared to corporate organizations. The staff is dedicated and hardworking. Good people.

Cons

Too numerous to count - there is no career path; do not expect to be promoted no matter how hard you work, how good you are at your job or how well you get along with patients and co-workers. There is zero professional development for non-clinicians. There is no promotion from within. People are often demoted for no reason. Poor performance is not penalized, abusive behavior is tolerated by people at the highest levels, when you complain they ignore you. Don't even think about going to work there if you are over 40.
